Privacy

Transparency is a desktop application that runs entirely on your computer. It has no account system, no analytics, and no telemetry. This policy is short because there is very little to describe.

What the app collects

Nothing. The app makes no network requests of any kind. It reads the list of applications running on your Mac, talks to yabai on your machine, and writes rules into a configuration file in your home directory. None of that leaves the computer.

Your licence key is verified locally against a public key compiled into the application. Activation does not contact us, which is why it works with no internet connection.

What we collect when you buy

Purchases are handled by our merchant of record, who acts as the seller and processes the payment. They collect what is needed to take the payment and satisfy tax law: your email address, billing country, and payment details. We never see or store your card details.

We receive your email address and an order identifier so we can issue your licence and answer support requests. That is the entire customer record we hold.

What we collect on this website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Our host records standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as tax law requires, currently seven years. You can ask us to delete your email from our support records at any time; we cannot delete the merchant of record's transaction records, because they are legally required to keep them.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing support@dfacto.ai. If you are in the UK, EU, or a jurisdiction with comparable law, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

This product is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and note the change on this page. We will not quietly start collecting something.
